The new MNO research group is involved in performing theory and modelling studies to investigate linear, nonlinear, and quantum light-matter interactions in structures at the micro-scales. Our aim is to understand and exploit these kinds of interactions in cutting-edge microstructures to offer new potential ideas that can lead to novel photonic devices.
In particular, we are interested in
- Controlling pulse dynamics
- Tuning optical frequencies over a wide range
- Generating efficient coherent light in the ultraviolet and infrared red regimes
- Managing optical Rogue-wave generation
- Manipulating parity-time symmetric photonic waveguides
- Generating efficient correlated and entangled photons
- Performing quantum information processing
