The new MNO research group is involved in performing theory and modelling studies to investigate linear, nonlinear, and quantum light-matter interactions in structures at the micro-scales. Our aim is to understand and exploit these kinds of interactions in cutting-edge microstructures to offer new potential ideas that can lead to novel photonic devices.

In particular, we are interested in

  • Controlling pulse dynamics
  • Tuning optical frequencies over a wide range
  • Generating efficient coherent light in the ultraviolet and infrared red regimes
  • Managing optical Rogue-wave generation
  • Manipulating parity-time symmetric photonic waveguides
  • Generating efficient correlated and entangled photons
  • Performing quantum information processing
